In this series of online microlearning sessions, HerCentury is partnering with Eveline Goodman-Hedtke (Neuroscience & Psychology) to explore 4 essential topics over 4 weeks, starting May 7th, 6:30 pm. Every week we invite to a 20 minute presentation followed by a 40 minute Q & A, giving women the chance to discuss the professional issues that affect them most.

Note: to take part at the sessions you need to install Zoom on your phone or laptop.

Confidence is a bitch…. we all need (Thursday, 7th of May, 6:30 pm via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84073169716)

Sometimes our biggest obstacle is ourselves. In this first session, Eveline Goodman will address confidence and explain its neurological and psychological basis and function. By understanding where confidence comes from, we can learn to harness it even in situations where confident is the last thing we feel.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys: know your worth! (Thursday, 14th of May, 6:30 pm via Zoom. Link will be shared one week before the session)

Do you know how to increase your value to employers before job or salary negotiations? Have you ever tried asking for a raise or recognition, only to have your request ignored? Here, Eveline Goodman will talk about what NOT to do if you want to see your skills and contributions recognised at work. By focusing on the DON’Ts, you will be forced to think about how to express yourself authentically, so that you can find the path to get you where you want to be.

Sir, you can’t touch this! (Tuesday, 19th of May, 6:30 pm via Zoom. Link will be shared one week before the session)

Of course, unequal treatment in the workplace is no joke. But it is a fact of life for women everywhere. Eveline Goodman will use this session to share her own experiences of sexual harassment and discrimination. With zero tolerance for bullshit, Eveline will explain how to push back against sexualised language, offhand comments, and microaggressions – using the tools of neuroscience and psychology.

Death, taxes and… change? ( (Thursday, 28th of May, 6:30 pm via Zoom. Link will be shared one week before the session)

If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that you can’t count on anything. Eveline Goodman will tackle the question of how we can find mental clarity and balance in a fast-paced, endlessly-changing world. How do we know what we want? What decisions are right for us? And even if we know, how can we enact them? By sharing insights about human cognition, Eveline will reveal that mental power and cognitive calm come from utilising both hemispheres of the brain, and leaning in to all the forms of intelligence stored there.
